About Me

I build the tools I wish existed.

I'm Diane Corriette — a full-stack Django developer, founder of Djangify, life coach, and digital creator. I've been building things online since 2005, and I have never once considered stopping.

I didn't take the conventional route into tech. I came through years of building websites for clients, running membership communities, studying digital marketing, and eventually making a deliberate decision in 2023 to retrain as a software developer. I graduated with a Merit in Full Stack Software Development (eCommerce) from Code Institute in March 2024.

Djangify came directly from that journey — a platform I built because the tools I needed didn't exist in the form I wanted them, and because I was tired of watching independent creators hand their profits and their customer data to platforms that don't know their name.

What I Do

Three things. All of them real.

Developer & Builder

I build with Python, Django, Flask, and TailwindCSS. My focus is clean, self-hosted, offline-friendly tools — software people can actually own, not rent. I build and maintain projects under the Djangify organisation on GitHub.

Founder of Djangify

Djangify is a Django-based eCommerce platform for independent creators selling digital products. Available as managed hosting at £12/month or a one-time self-hosted purchase. Built so creators own their store, their data, and their profits — with no platform taking a cut of every sale.

Life Coach

I coach through my brand Inspirational Guidance — a brand that has been active for years and is not for sale. My superpower is making people feel seen, and I don't manufacture it. It happens when I show up as myself.

The Journey

Building online since before most people called it that.

I've been here a long time. Not performing longevity — actually building things, selling things, learning things, and starting again when I needed to.

2005

Started working online professionally

Began selling products and websites online. Attended internet marketing seminars and started building a real understanding of how digital business works.

2007

WordPress developer & community builder

Started building with WordPress — first as a blogger, then putting up sites for clients. Built a social network for the Dominican diaspora that grew to over 8,000 members before selling it. Ran membership sites, workshops, and talked to audiences about blogging and online business.

2010

Workshop: University of West Indies, Dominica

Gave a 90-minute workshop to authors and writers on how to use the internet to promote their books — covering blogging, video, and social media marketing.

2015

Diploma in Digital Marketing — Digital Marketing Institute

Formalised years of practical knowledge with a professional qualification in digital marketing and SEO. Have kept that knowledge current with every major algorithm update since. Verify credential →

2017

Sold client list. Took stock.

After years of building for other people, I sold my WordPress client list and stepped back. I continued building and selling products on my own terms — which, looking back, was the right move.

2023

Retraining as a software developer

Enrolled in the Full Stack Software Development Diploma at Code Institute — a deliberate, focused decision to get the formal skills that matched what I was already doing intuitively. Specialisation: eCommerce.

2024

Graduated with Merit. Djangify launched.

Graduated Full Stack Software Developer (eCommerce) with Merit in March 2024. Verify credential → Launched Djangify as a real product — managed hosting and self-hosted — for independent creators ready to stop renting their digital business from platforms that don't know their name.

The Human Bit

The things that don't fit neatly on a CV.

My parents were from Dominica — a small island in the Caribbean — and that heritage shaped how I think about community, about showing up for people, and about building things that actually belong to the people who use them. The social network I built in 2009 was for the Dominican diaspora. When you want to connect people who are scattered across the world and far from home, you build something real or you don't bother.

I'm an INFJ. The profile says: "Fuelled by a profound internal passion. Stimulated by deep, reflective thought and an enormous amount of empathy. Conscientious to the core, they move through life with a clear sense of their values." That's accurate. It's also why I coach as well as build — the two things aren't separate for me.

I write. I have flash fiction and poetry going back years, self-published ebooks on self-confidence, paperback notebooks on Amazon, and GCSE study books. I also sell non-fiction. Writing and building are both just different ways of making something from nothing, and I've never really been able to stop doing either.

"My superpower is making people feel seen, and I don't manufacture it — it just happens when I show up as myself."

I've been in rooms full of people performing success while quietly wondering if I was the only one who didn't have it figured out. I'm not talking at people when I say that. I'm talking to them. That's where everything I build comes from — not a strategy, just who I am.
